Signal Processing Engineer



Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who has a strong analytical background and loves to play with physiological signals. In this role as a Signal Processing Engineer, you will be working with our patented signal processing algorithms to identify and extract physiological and disease related parameters from the acoustic signals recorded by our unique acoustic sensor. You will be participating in new and exciting research projects working closely with our team of highly established researchers and furthering our mission to improve the lives of millions of people around the world.

What you will do

  • Analysis, development and testing of signal processing algorithms for the calculation of biosignal parameters and the detection and diagnosis of diseases and illnesses from sensor data.
  • Write code following the IEC62304 based software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in experimental lab testing and data acquisition from clinical trials.
  • Define, document and implement comprehensive unit and functional tests.

What you should bring to Acurable

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics. It would also be desirable (but not mandatory) a PhD or other advanced research degree with a strong experimental component and statistical validation.
  • Experience and deep understanding of the fundamental concepts in digital signal processing and using them for creating and implementing algorithms for processing and analysing data and event streams.
  • Experience/knowledge in quantifying algorithm performance, including statistical concepts such as confusion matrices, sensitivity, specificity, etc. It would also be desirable (but not mandatory) to have experience and understanding of data science/machine learning tools and techniques.
  • Experience with Python (or similar programming languages).
  • Knowledge/experience of Git (or any other version control system), Docker, and IEC62304 standard would be highly desirable.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Creativity in finding solutions, attention to detail, a good understanding of technology and, most of all, a desire to learn new things.

Position details

  • Location: Post-Covid, you’ll be based at the company headquarters in London, but still with the option to work remotely as and when required.
  • Team: Join a team of 8 developers.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on skills.
