Medical Affairs Lead

Role Overview

An effective medical affairs launch strategy will focus on early stage thought leader identification and engagement, clear guidance for commercial strategies and launch resources management, and will be a key critical factor to a successful launch. The right medical affairs manager must build strong communication between key external decision-makers and the internal commercial group.

What you will do

Reporting to the Clinical Research Director, your role will involve:

  • External/Customer interactions (50%)
    • Act as an ambassador for the company’s sleep apnoea division, in all customer facing medical activity and must demonstrate a genuine interest in building and maintaining strong key customer and KOL partnerships.
    • Organise and lead scientific and medical meetings at key national and international events with KOLs and customers to raise awareness of Acurable and get feedback.
    • Establish and develop strong relationships with key external customers (the expectation is at least two days per week in the field).
    • Manage enquiries regarding Investigator Initiated-Sponsored Research (llSR) and to maintain channels of communication with Acurable R&D.
  • Internal Scientific Collaboration (40%)
    • Support the writing of clinical trial protocols; advise on methodology and study design. You will need to be highly organised with excellent writing skills and, ideally, experience in clinical trials.
    • Support sales and marketing initiatives with scientific and medical input.
    • Support the clinical project manager by being the main point of contact between the clinical trial site and the company during clinical trial. .
    • There may also be opportunities to gain experience in scientific interpretation of clinical trial data and writing study reports. Attention to detail and proficiency in word processing are essential for the position.
  • New Business Development (10%)
    • Present the scientific evidence for AcuNoeaTM to Key Opinion Leaders and Respiratory / Sleep Physicians.
    • Set up and manage the KOL Commercial Pilots, ensuring that the programmes are well supported and successful.
    • Follow up from Commercial Pilots and convert into orders for AcuNoeaTM.

What you should bring to Acurable

  • PhD scientist in life sciences / bio-engineering / medical science, medical doctor or clinical experience working within the NHS.
  • 3-4 years experience in industry, ideally in a similar role for a medical device or pharma company.

Position details

  • Location: Based in the company headquarters in London + 20% travel.
